Bethune-Cookman University
Excellence and state-of-the-art training are the vanguard of Bethune-Cookman University's academic programs. The result of a merger in 1923 of the Cookman Institute of Jacksonville and the Daytona Beach Normal and Industrial School for Negro Girls founded by internationally acclaimed educator and civil and women's rights activist Mary McLeod Bethune, Bethune-Cookman University is one of eleven private United Methodist Church-affiliated colleges and universities and one of the 41-member institutions of The Fund/UNCF, Inc. The main campus with 33 buildings spans 60 acres of park-like land and is situated in the heart of Daytona Beach. Eleven of the college's buildings are listed on the National Historic Register, making it a National Historic District.

Daytona Beach College
Daytona Beach College,a comprehensive public college, provides access to a range of flexible programs, from community enrichment to the baccalaureate degree, emphasizing student success, embracing excellence and diversity and fostering innovation to enhance teaching and learning. More than 30,000 primarily Volusia and Flagler County citizens enroll in college courses each year, taking advantage of more than 100 one- and two-year associate degree and certificate offerings. The Daytona Beach Campus is the largest of the College's six campuses and centers, and houses its School of Baccalaureate Studies and University Center. A leader in the area's work force and economic development initiatives, DBC is continually developing new technological means to deliver educational services to the community. Leading the list is the Advanced Technology Center (ATC), an innovative educational partnership among the College, Flagler County Schools , Volusia County Schools and the business communities of Volusia and Flagler counties. The ATC offers opportunities for high school students and adult community college students to pursue technology based fields.

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is the world's oldest, largest, and most prestigious university specializing in aviation and aerospace higher education. The University was founded in 1926, twenty-two years after the historic fight of the Wright brothers. Today, Embry-Riddle has the nation's largest aeronautical science, aerospace engineering and engineering physics programs. The University offers more than 30 degree programs. The Daytona Beach campus serves over 4,800 undergraduate and graduate students in 53 buildings. The University serves culturally diverse students pursuing careers in aviation and aerospace.

Stetson's DeLand campus serves about 2,300 students in the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Music and School of Business Administration. The University of Central Florida at Daytona Beach
UCF at Daytona Beach (part of the UCF Regional Campus System located at DBC) is a state-supported, upper-level university campus enrolling junior, senior and graduate level students. Established in 1968, the Daytona Beach location offers Associate of Arts and Associate of Science graduates, as well as transfer students, an opportunity to complete14 full university-accredited Undergraduate programs with 18 Minors. There are also 7 Graduate and 4 Graduate Certificate programs, all providing convenience, seamlessness and flexibility. Located on the DBCC campus, UCF at Daytona Beach shares a joint-use facility providing easy access to students.
